Wei Li (李惟)

I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Accountancy, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. I earned my Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University in 2020.

My most recent research looks at within-firm variations in environmental policies and finds that CEOs prioritize environmental protection in plants near their hometowns over plants in other places. This hometown favoritism in pollution reduction is more pronounced when the parent companies have poor overall CSR performance and are financially constrained.

My other recent works examine the public financing impact of the opioid epidemic in the U.S. and the informational role of investor-paid credit rating agencies.
